Abstract June Boyce-Tillman and Keith Swanwick’s article on musical development is the second most widely cited paper in history of British Journal Music Education. It appears many discussions development. A selection diverse domains where includes: instrumental teaching, Special Education Needs, primary school learning for professional musicians, secondary musicians’ skill development, adult music teaching jazz improvisation.
